The Kennesaw State Owls clinched a 7-6 win over the West Virginia Mountaineers in their NCAA Division I baseball game Sunday, March 1, at S. Walter Kelly Sr. Memorial Field. Cole Royer, a former Pierce County High School standout, played for the winning Owls. This meeting marked their third matchup with the Mountaineers this season after falling 9-1 in the previous game on Saturday, Feb. 28.
S. Walter Kelly Sr. Memorial Field hosted the tightly contested game. Royer gave up five earned runs in 1.1 innings, issuing three walks and recording two strikeouts.
The Owls will next face the Georgia Bulldogs on Tuesday, March 3, at 6 p.m. at S. Walter Kelly Sr. Memorial Field.
