Appling Healthcare Confirms Increase in COVID-19 Cases

Appling Hospital issued the following announcement on Aug. 9

As a result of routine weekly COVID-19 testing, the Appling Nursing and Rehabilitation Pavilion reports three new cases of coronavirus among residents and no results are pending. As a precautionary measure, the nursing home also tested residents who reside on the same hall. These test results came back negative. Nursing home residents will continue to be tested on a weekly basis or upon onset of symptoms, until further notice.

The nursing home has also confirmed one positive COVID-19 case among employees, with no test results pending.

All employees at the facility are continuing to be screened for respiratory illnesses and temperatures twice a day; at the beginning of their shift and in the middle of their shift. Residents are continuing to be screened three times a day. Environmental Services is continuing to clean all high-touch surfaces three times a day.

Additionally, Appling Healthcare reports five cases of COVID-19 among hospital employees and no test results are pending.

Another option is to send an email to covid19@appling-hospital.org. Your email will automatically be routed to the nursing home administration team, as well as hospital staff.
