City mourns loss of long-time employee to COVID-19

City of Savannah issued the following announcement on Sept. 24.

Mayor Van R. Johnson, II, issued a resolution at the Sept. 23 city council meeting honoring the life and memory of Harold Robinson, Jr., who died from COVID-19 this month. 

Robinson served as a technician with the City of Savannah Building Maintenance Department for 22 years. He was a Savannah native who graduated from Beach High School in 1987. Robinson was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Desert Storm and the National Guard Reserve. 

The resolution reads, "the Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Savannah celebrate and remember the life and memory of Mr. Harold Robinson, Jr. and offer our appreciation for his life and his contributions to the Savannah Community."
