A 7th grade student was suspended from Claxton Middle School today for bringing a paintball gun onto campus. A classmate reported to a teacher around 9:30 a.m. that he saw a box in a classmate's bookbag that had a picture of a paintball gun. The teacher notified the administration who removed the student and the bookbag without incident. Upon inspection the box did contain a plastic paintball gun; however, no paintballs were present. School resources officers are involved in the investigation.
