Coffee Regional Medical Center held a flag-raising ceremony on the front lawn on Monday, April 18

12

To celebrate Donate Life Month and honor the many members of our community who have so generously chosen to donate, Coffee Regional Medical Center held a flag-raising ceremony on the front lawn on Monday, April 18th. Before raising the flag, a prayer was offered by Pastor Kevin Bounds.  Following the raising of the flag, attendees held a moment of silence to remember those who have donated and celebrate those whose lives have been saved through organ donation.

More than 112,000 individuals in the United States await the gift of life through organ donation and over 4,900 of those are our friends and neighbors in Georgia. Hundreds of thousands more benefit from tissue, cornea, and blood donation annually. One person can potentially save or enhance more than 75 lives through organ and tissue donation.

Georgians can join the state’s organ and tissue donor registry in several ways, including online at www.DonateLifeGeorgia.org, when obtaining/renewing a driver’s license or identification card at a local driver’s license office, or by calling Donate Life Georgia directly at 1-866-57-SHARE (1-866-577-4273). In conjunction with donor registration, we encourage you to share your donation decision with your family, and please encourage them to do the same.

Coffee Regional Medical Center collaborates with LifeLink to ensure patients who choose to be tissue and organ donors can give life. We are proud to support National Donate Life Month and encourage you to learn more about organ, tissue, and eye donation.
