Applications Accepted May 9, 2022 – May 27, 2022

The Emanuel County School System will accept applications for School Choice transfers.  Parents may request to transfer their child to another public school in the district for the upcoming 2022-2023 school year if the school has available space after its assigned students have been enrolled. The Emanuel County School System considers factors such as projected enrollment and maximum class size when determining available space.  The chart below indicates space availability by school and grade.  Parents will be responsible for transportation for a student attending school outside his/her attendance area.

* Transfers for Kindergarten students will not be considered until after the first 10 days of school.  Only Kindergarten students who are enrolled and have completed a School Choice transfer form application during the HB 251 window will be considered for transfer.

**Emanuel County Institute and Swainsboro High School will allow transfers if scheduling requirements can be met when enrolling with the counselor.  Enrollment into certain courses (Honors, Electives, etc.) may not be accommodated due to the number of students already enrolled in those courses. Students transferring to another high school, within the district, may not be eligible to participate in extra-curricular activities due to GHSA guidelines.

School Choice transfer forms may be picked up from the Emanuel County Board of Education building at 201 N. Main Street, Swainsboro, Georgia beginning May 9, 2022.  All applications must be hand delivered to the office. No applications will be accepted after May 27, 2022 at the close of the business day.
