At the June 23 regular monthly meeting of the Coffee County Board of Education, Dr. Morris Leis presented the Superintendent's Award to Dr. James Banks and Mrs. Kim Clayton. Both administrators are retiring after 30 years of service with the Coffee County School System. Dr. Banks served as a school administrator and Assistant Superintendent for Operations and Maintenance and Mrs. Clayton served as Director of Personnel and Public Relations.
Dr. Leis bestowed this award to Banks and Clayton at their last board meeting, citing their strong work ethic and desire to serve the students, staff and community. The awards were well-deserved and both will leave a legacy of service in the school district. Congratulations to Dr. Banks and Mrs. Clayton on their retirement and best wishes to each of them as they begin a new chapter in their lives.
