Tiger Basketball Rolls In Season Opener 85-73; Bethea With Double-Double

The Andrew College Men's Basketball team opened the 2022-23 season with a convincing 85-73 victory over Southeast Collegiate Prep on Wednesday night in the Jinks Gymnasium. The Tigers had all eleven players score and cruised in the second half after building an eighteen point lead at the half. Andrew shot 60% from the field, posted 20 assists, had 9 steals, and pulled down 42 boards in a game they led throughout.

Demarco Bethea led the Tiger scoring, pumping in 17 points along with a team-high 10 boards, for the first double-double of the season, adding a pair of blocks. Sebian Tate came off the bench to toss in 15 points, along with 2 steals and 2 assists, Kobe Cato added 11 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists, Elliott Yorke Jr. had 10 points, 2 assists and 3 steals, Andrew Kim added 8 points and 2 assists, and Samuel McCloud had a team-high 4 assists and 4 steals to go along with 3 points to highlight a balanced attack.

Andrew is back in the Jinks Gymnasium on Saturday against Enterprise State CC (AL), with the women playing at 10:00 am and the men playing 30 minutes after the women's game, approximately at 12:30 pm.
