Bacon County Schools: Bacon County High School welcomed most students in 2022-23 school year

Bacon County High School had the highest enrollment among Bacon County schools, welcoming 621 students during the 2022-23 school year, according to the Georgia Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 52% of them were male, and 48% were female.

Data also showed that most of the students were white, representing 59% of the Bacon County High School total enrollment.

Among the four schools in Bacon County, Bacon County Primary School ranked second in enrollment numbers with 472 students, while Bacon County Middle School welcomed 458 students to be ranked third in the 2022-23 school year.

Bacon County High School is part of Bacon County School District, which generally encompasses schools within Bacon County, with its main office in Alma.

In the previous school year, Bacon County High School also had the highest number of students among Bacon County schools.

As of 2024, Georgia has an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:15, which is better than the national average of 1:16. The state has its best student-to-teacher ratio of 14:1 in pre-kindergarten and middle school grades, while high school has an average ratio of 17:1.
