There were 916 students enrolled in Metter Elementary School during 2022-23 school year in Candler County

Metter Elementary School had the highest enrollment among Candler County schools, welcoming 916 students during the 2022-23 school year, according to the Georgia Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 51% of them were male, and 49% were female.

The most represented ethnicity among Metter Elementary School students was white, with 47% of students identifying as such.

Among the four schools in Candler County, Metter Middle School ranked second in enrollment numbers with 516 students, while Metter High School welcomed 473 students to be ranked third in the 2022-23 school year.

Metter Elementary School is part of Candler County School District, which generally encompasses schools within Candler County, with its main office in Metter.

In the previous school year, Metter Elementary School also had the highest number of students among Candler County schools.

As of 2024, Georgia has an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:15, which is better than the national average of 1:16. The state has its best student-to-teacher ratio of 14:1 in pre-kindergarten and middle school grades, while high school has an average ratio of 17:1.
