Evans County Education: 3 Native American students were enrolled in 2022-23 school year

There were three Native American students enrolled in Evans County school in the 2022-23 school year, 25% less than the previous year, according to reports from the Georgia Department of Education.

Data showed that Evans County welcomed 1,687 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Native American students comprised less than 0.1% of the student body to be the least represented ethnicity in the county.

Among the four schools in Evans County, Claxton Middle School was the only school enrolling Native American students in the 2022-23 school year.

As of 2024, Georgia has an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:15, which is better than the national average of 1:16. The state has its best student-to-teacher ratio of 14:1 in pre-kindergarten and middle school grades, while high school has an average ratio of 17:1.
