Wayne County School District Education: 4,887 students were enrolled in 2022-23 school year

There were 4,887 students enrolled in Wayne County School District in the 2022-23 school year, 1.7% more than the previous year, according to reports from the Georgia Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 51% of them were male, and 49% were female.

Data also shows that most of the students were white, representing 61% of the Wayne County School District's total enrollment.

Wayne County School District roughly covers eight schools within Wayne County and has a main office in Jesup.

Among the eight schools in Wayne County School District, Wayne County High School recorded the highest enrollment of 1,412 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Chronic absenteeism in Georgia has declined from its 2022 peak of 25%, but it still remains above pre-pandemic levels (11.8%). In 2024, about 20.7% of all students in the state missed 10% or more of their classes.
